university of crete

The University of Crete is a research-oriented public university whose School of Medicine is based at its Heraklion campus. Within the School of Medicine, the Artificial Intelligence and Translational Imaging (ATI) Lab leads the University of Crete’s contribution to M4GIC-ILC, providing specialist expertise in medical imaging, radiomics, foundation-model adaptation, multimodal AI and regulatory-ready AI systems.

Main role in M4GIC-ILC

The ATI Lab, representing the University of Crete within the consortium, is the project’s main specialist in the development of the multi-agent AI architecture. The Lab will develop the orchestrator that brings together the project’s specialised AI tools, including diagnosis, staging, relapse-prediction and treatment-support agents.

ATI Lab will also lead or contribute to cross-modal fusion and reconstruction, explainability, uncertainty quantification and development of the clinical user interface, while supporting alignment of the resulting system with the EU AI Act and Medical Device Regulation.

It is the lead beneficiary for the generation of the multi-agentic system, aiming to deliver the MAS prototype, diagnosis and staging agents, relapse and predictive agents, similarity-retrieval agent, explainability framework and clinical GUI.
