UMC Utrecht is a major academic medical centre combining patient care, biomedical research and education, with personalised cancer care among its strategic areas. Within M4GIC-ILC, its particular strengths are breast pathology, digital pathology, AI implementation and large clinical cohorts.
Main role in M4GIC-ILC
UMC Utrecht contributes ILC-enriched pathology, mammography, breast MRI, ultrasound, genomic and clinical data. Its pathology group brings extensive experience in fully digital diagnostics and clinical implementation of AI. The team will develop multimodal AI algorithms, contribute to diagnostic and staging model testing, and validate the technology in clinical practice.
UMC Utrecht has a particularly important role later in the clinical pathway as leader of the Development of Relapse and Treatment Models from Unimodal/Multimodal Data. This includes models for relapse prediction and treatment benefit.
